What we tell teens about talking to you

If your child seems hesitant, these answers from the app might help you start the conversation, too.

I'm nervous to talk to my parents/guardians about my period.

It's totally normal to feel nervous to talk about periods with your parents or other adults. But remember, they were kids once too! They are usually happy to help by chatting or getting supplies. Periods are a normal part of life. If you are still nervous, find another trusted adult to talk to, like a teacher or school nurse.

How do I start a conversation with an adult?

If you are unsure what to say, you can always send them a text or write a letter. Talking in the car or while walking is a good time too (no need for eye contact!). Of course, you can also just talk to them any time you want. Periods are normal, healthy, and nothing to be ashamed of.

FAQ

Questions from parents

What can I see once we're linked?

You can see what your child tracks in Luna, like their period days, symptoms, and when the next period is likely to start. Everything except their notes. You can also turn on reminders that give you a heads-up before a period is likely to begin.

My child is young. Do I need to be involved?

Yes. A child under 13 (or the age of privacy consent in your country) needs a linked parent account, and a parent gives consent before any of their data is stored in the cloud. Older teens can choose whether to link a parent.

Does my child need their own subscription?

No. Linking and backup are part of Luna+, and your Luna+ can cover your linked child's backup.

Can I link more than one child?

Yes, you can link up to four children and switch between them. Reminders follow the child you're currently viewing.
